That's Carlos, he was welding girders when I came across him. I asked if I could record him, and he was more than happy to allow it. I asked him for a picture, he just yelled "Say Cheese" and smiled and waved me good-bye and wished me luck on my project.

The sound of street performers, Kirk and Darby covering Folsom Prison Blues.

See that hole? I lowered the mics down into there, and this is what I heard. There is the rushing sound of water, and the vibrations of the cars from the road above. Breathtaking.

I went into an alley, and found a pipe that had drops hitting in a rapid staccato. Odd, considering there had not been any rainfall recently. Also a large vent nearby that was making an intense drone sound was also buzzing in the alley.

I wanted to try to interfere with my environment. There was a cluster of uneven plating on the sidewalk. I set the mics down and made percussion with my steps.

driftdriftingdrifted.

I just completed my drift walk across Nashville. Right now, I stopped in for a drink at a coffee shop in Cummins Station called The Listening Room Cafe. They have iced tea and wi-fi, so it's the perfect stop after a long day of wandering aimlessly. Pictures to be uploaded tonight, but the sound will have to wait until Sunday when I have my PC available. It was an adventure, the within the first 10 minutes of the drift, a homeless man held my hand and prayed for me. He said he was from Iowa and had traveled many miles to reach a performing arts center. I pointed him in the right direction. He smelled like beer and cologne.
